The Russian Science Foundation (RSF) announced the results of two regional competitions: projects of individual research groups and small individual research groups. The RSF supported four projects by VSU scientists.
The projects “Landscape modelling of ravine geosystems of the Voronezh region” by Anatoly Gorbunov, PhD in Geography, Associate Professor at the Department of Physical Geography and Landscape Optimisation of VSU and “Development of soft dosage forms using solid dispersions in order to improve the biopharmaceutical properties of low-soluble pharmaceutical substances” by Yulia Polkovnikova, DSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor of VSU, won the competition “Fundamental scientific research and exploratory scientific research by small individual research groups”.
Another winning project in this competition was “The search for ways to modify crop waste for the synthesis of composite superabsorbents based on them” presented by junior research assistant Andrey Sorokin from Voronezh State University of Engineering Technology on behalf of VSU.
As part of the competition, they supported the VSU’s project “Developing, obtaining, and studying new ferroelectric and magneto-electric materials for nanoelectronic devices, new generation information recording and storage systems, sensor technologies, and medicine” by Alexander Kalgin, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor at Voronezh State Technical University.
The winners will receive grants ranging from 1.5 to 6 million roubles. The projects are expected to be implemented in 2024–2026. RSF competitions are aimed at the country’s development by involving scientific potential in solving issues of socio-economic development of the regions of the Russian Federation.
