On 12 March, students from the Department of Sociology and Political Studies of the Faculty of History of VSU organised a BRICS Summit business game for Platonov gymnasium students. The summit focused on the development of academic mobility within BRICS countries.
In his welcoming speech, Dmitry Zaviryukhin, a fourth-year student and an organiser of the event, stressed the growing global role of the organisation. Such changes are facilitated by the improving economic positions of the member states.
The participants of the game acted as delegates representing BRICS countries. The summit included delegations from ten countries: Brazil, Egypt, China, India, UAE, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, and South Africa.
The delegates presented the standpoints of their counties and were then grouped in two parties whose task was to develop the final declaration. As a result, the summit adopted the declaration developed by the representatives of UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, Iran, and South Africa.
The best speakers were awarded with certificates and the most well-prepared team was awarded with a certificate for the “Best Report”.
